Borders of Hope

August 31, 2007

Dear Abe,

Thank you so much for giving me a copy of your book "Borders of Hope". What an amazing story! I was deeply touched and moved by it. It was so tragic that you had to experience such horrors at such a young age. Nobody should ever have to live like that. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my family. Thankfully you were reunited with your older brother, Jacob. The fact that you survived all that pain and suffering is truly a miracle.

Your books sends a powerful message to all of us who get depressed over life's challenges. It gives a reality to check to what it really means to be dealt a cruel hand in the game of life. It personally reminds me of all the things I have to be thankful for. I don't think I could have ever displayed such bravery and courage. I truly admire you for having the strength to overcome such adversities. You are blessed with a tremendous spirit.

Now that school has started, I will talk to the teachers at my school about having you come in to speak. I am sure many of the students could benefit from your experiences.

Sincerely,

Patti,
Long Island, NY
